About us
Welcome to Treasures Out West, where Montana history, craftsmanship, and community come together under one roof. Located in the heart of Joliet, Montana, our unique store combines a museum experience created by Dave and Diane Engel with a thoughtfully curated gift shop owned by Kathie Riley.
Our museum is a tribute to Dave Engel (Engel's Coach Shop) where his craftmanship of building wagons and the famous Borax Wagons built by Dave in 2016, went to the Rose Bowl parade and now are displayed in Bishop California. Dave's knowledge of history is fascinating and if you want to come to Joliet for a visit with Dave email him on his website )Engel Coach Shop)
As lifelong friends and proud Montanans, we shared a vision of creating a place that celebrates the spirit, heritage, and creativity of the West. Dave and Diane’s passion for preserving history through their museum pairs perfectly with Kathie’s love for offering handcrafted gifts, local products, and treasures that reflect Montana living.
Born and raised in Montana, we understand the values of small-town community, hard work, and supporting local artisans. Inside our shop, you’ll find a blend of Western heritage and unique merchandise including handmade pottery, rugs, candles, soaps, apparel, gifts, and Montana-inspired products that honor the culture and beauty of our state.
Whether you are visiting our museum, shopping for a special gift, or simply stopping by to experience a piece of Montana hospitality, we are grateful to welcome you to Treasures Out West — a place built on friendship, history, and a shared love for the West.
